I was told something a year ago that has helped me immensely.  Today, I share it with you.

There is a certain issue (that still continues) that has not been resolved nor concluded in my life.  An issue that God gets an earful about quite frequently from me.  Usually, whenever it comes up, I look up at the sky with a certain look that says to God, “Really?  Are you serious? This is ridiculous that this is coming up again.”  He laughs usually and just says, “You worry for nothing”.

So, a year ago.  This issue was apart of a conversation I had with a friend of mine who I hadn’t seen in years.  We really are more of acquaintances.  She showed up in my city and we talked, she prayed for me, she left. The end.  But she said something during that prayer that I have never forgotten.  She said this:  “Rhonda, God is hiding you.  You aren’t going to like it but He is.”  And I remember thinking, “Yeah, whatever, it’s no big deal.  I don’t care.  What is there not to like about singleness? my issue?  🙂

Anyways, the months went by, and at times of feeling absolutely ignored for no reason whatsoever-ignored by co-workers, friends, guys, girls, strangers, family, etc, those words came back, “God is hiding you-don’t worry.”

Where is God?  He is in the Hiding Place-right where you should be.  Hiding in Him.  He is the Hiding Place.  He is in the Hiding Place because He is the Hiding Place.

Psalm 10:1  Oh Lord, why do you stand so far away?  Why do you hide when I need you the most?

Psalm 32:7  For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble.

Psalm 119:114  You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my only source of hope.

Obviously, these are only 3 scriptures of many that talk about hiding.  In the times it seems that God is hiding, far away, remote- well, he is the Hiding Place and if you were hiding in the Hiding Place, you would know he is not far away at all.

I could go on but it’s 7:55 pm, and American Idol is on in 5 minutes so I gotta run.  Maybe I will do Part II later 🙂
